Joan, I was Bob's 1st Cousin. His mom Thelma was my father Raymond Phillips' sister. I have searched for Bob for yeas while doing genealogy work on our family. I was really saddened to just find him today only to learn he died last November. My condolences to your family. I do have a few photos from our childhood in Atlanta, You can tell your children and grand children that their Bob's 2nd great grandfather (Joseph Phillips) fought in the War of 1812 for which he received an 80 acre land grant in Alabama. I'm so sad. I had so much to tell Bob.

Uncle Bob, I am so grateful that we found each other again. I can't imagine my life without you in it. I will forever miss our weekly conversations. We laughed, shed a few tears, & teased each other silly! I love you. Thank you for being a part of my life. See you soon!

Daddy loved eagles. When I was young, his favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 40:28-31.

King James Version (KJV)

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

I am thankful for the honest and open relationship I had with Daddy. He taught me how to fight and not give up, how to love my children unconditionally, and how to love myself. Daddy was my hero.

Thank you, Jesus, for Daddy's time on earth and for making him my Daddy.

I'll see you soon, Daddy.
